2. Gatwick Airport Community Trust 2015 Grant Programme now open
Gatwick Airport Community Trust’s (GACT’s) annual grant scheme is now accepting applications from voluntary, community and not-for-profit groups and registered charities based in and around the areas directly affected by operations at Gatwick Airport.
Grants of between £250 and £5,000 are available, although the usual level of grant awarded is between £1,000 and £4,000. GACT will, however, often consider much larger grants if the impact is targeted to benefit a significant number of people and the project is likely to make a profound and significant difference long term.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate determined efforts to secure alternative sources of funding, and any applications from areas not directly affected by the airport will be classed as a lower priority. A complete list of the eligible areas of Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and West Sussex is available on the Trust’s website. Places of worship are also eligible for funding if they are able to prove that their proposed project is of benefit to the wider community.
The deadline for applications is 16 March 2015.
