PCSO Craig Harvey

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is PCSO Craig HARVEY and I have served as a Police Community Support Officer for just short of 17 years.

My areas of responsibility are Balcombe, Staplefield, Pease Pottage, Handcross, Slaugham, Cuckfield (incl Brook Street) and Warninglid.

As I have recently taken over these areas you may not have seen me that much as I start to settle in.

I am very keen on Neighbourhood Watch and have a lot of experience with supporting existing schemes and also creating new ones. You will see literature promoting Neighbourhood Watch in the Village soon. Please also have a look at the link below. This will allow you to look at schemes currently active in your area and you can also register your interest.

I have been liaising with the Balcombe Parish Council for a brief time and I am looking to develop this link further and I thank them for their support thus far.

Going forward working with the Parish Council I will be arranging some drop in beat surgeries in the Village and the most likely location will be at the Pavilion on the recreation ground. These will be very informal events and residents can come along and have a chat with me. I will also have a selection of crime prevention literature with me. So please keep an eye out for dates being published soon.

SPEEDING: We are aware of speeding issues in the Village and we are liaising with the Parish Council who have been working hard to tackle the matter. We have and will continue to conduct speed checks on both the Haywards Heath Road and Balcombe Road as these appear to be the key areas.

GRAFFITTI: We have had reports of graffiti appearing around the village and will targets the locations when on patrol in the evenings.

COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH: There has been interest expressed in the Village and we are in the process of getting a scheme set up. If you want to help tackle the issue of speeding in the Village and have some free time on a regular basis then please consider joining. Please follow the link below for further information.

NEIGHBOURHOOD ALERT: Sussex Police are using a system called ‘RAPPORT, in the know’ this is a community messaging system that allows Police and selected other agencies to circulate a bulletin to specific areas. Please see the link below. If you wish to sign up to this initiative which is free to do so please email me on craig.harvey@sussex.pnn.police.uk and I can sign you up. This system will allow officers to notify residents of any incidents in their area and can be used for community bulletins.

CLARION: I work very closely with the Clarion Housing Association and have regular meetings to discuss issues that there residents may be experiencing or causing.
