Mid Sussex District Council has announced the names of the candidates who will be standing in the Ardingly and Balcombe by-election on Thursday 8 July.

A seat is vacant on Mid Sussex District Council following the death of Councillor Andrew MacNaughton last month. A by-election will now be held for registered electors in the Ardingly and Balcombe Ward only; residents living in other areas of Mid Sussex will not be eligible to vote.

The candidates for the Ardingly and Balcombe by-election are as follows:

Jenny EDWARDS (Green Party)
Ben JERRIT (Liberal Democrats)
Lorraine NUNES-CARVALHO (The Conservative Party Candidate)
Carole Ann STEGGLES (Independent)

The deadline for new voter registration applications is Tuesday 22 June and the deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 23 June. Recent home movers should check that they have updated their details on the electoral register and will be eligible to vote.
