The Environment Agency (EA) is the environmental regulator of operations at Lower Stumble, the oil well site. Angus Energy Limited holds an environmental permit, granted by the EA. They have undertaken to inspect the site before, during and after well testing, and have the right to carry out unannounced inspections. They may carry out joint inspections with West Sussex County Council Mineral Planning Authority and the Health and Safety Executive.
Reporting an incident – If you wish to report an environmental incident, including noise and odour, please contact: the Environment Agency Incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60 (Freephone, 24 hour service). Please also ring Angus Energy Limited on 0203 974 2991, especially if the incident relates to amenity issues such as noise and odour, as it may be able to deal with these immediately.
