BPC have erected 5 banners to encourage good behaviour during the protest over the next few days. Several have since been damaged within hours. Whilst we realise that there are people in the village who disagree with the representation of the 82% as valid figure of opposition the priority this weekend has to be the promotion of peaceful demonstration. By using the 82% we hope to engage the protestors whilst reminding them that however we feel about fracking we are 100% UNITED as a village in opposition to illegal actions this weekend. The banners will be removed (should any remain!!) on wednesday at the end of the camp. They are a single purpose message to try and prevent injury to police, oil workers, and our visitors themselves.”
